‘Flower Project’ AW19/20 collection explores the abstract beauty of flowers and their life cycle, from blossoming to wilting. The collection emphasizes that beauty persists even as things age, depending on shifting perspectives. Over three months in my studio, I studied the stages of a flower's life, capturing its decay through continuous line sketches, painting, flower pressing and fabric manipulation. By blending hand-drawn abstract florals, hand-dyed fabrics, and a mixed media approach to floral print designs, the collection delves into the delicate balance between growth and decay. "Flower Project" spans both menswear and womenswear, featuring a diverse palette of earthy tones contrasted with bold, monochromatic patterns. These designs evoke the timeless allure of flowers, reflected in soft, gender-fluid, flowing silhouettes. The textiles combine screen printing and digital design techniques, including devoré, pigment printing, and hand-dyeing. Each piece in the collection tells a story of transformation, celebrating the quiet beauty found throughout the natural life cycle.
