In 2022, I was commissioned to design a set for the US musician ‘Sudan Archives’ London show, celebrating her latest album release, ‘Natural Brown Prom Queen’. Drawing inspiration from her album cover, which plays with the iconic American style of prom set dressing, I created an installation of inflatable balloon arches that perfectly captured the essence of a prom celebration with a modern twist, while also honouring ‘Sudan Archives’ original album cover style.
Set dressing initial inspiration and preparations featured an inflatable set design of balloons in gold, cream, and light pink.
