Creative Workshops and Youth Work for ‘Art Aganist Knives’, London, UK. 2024

Over the course of six months, I worked with the charity 'Art Against Knives,' facilitating both in-house and ad-hoc creative workshops for young people up to the age of 25. I designed and implemented a successful ongoing summer creative studio program specifically tailored for femme, non-binary, and trans youth. This program featured a range of diverse workshops, including zine-making, screen-printing, painting, pottery, DJ-ing and guest sessions with external artists too. I led and facilitated these workshops in secondary schools and youth centres across North London, providing hands-on instruction and support while fostering a safe and inclusive environment for learning and self-expression. Additionally, I collaborated with the 'Art Against Knives' team on daily operations and facilitation tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of programs and maintaining a supportive atmosphere for both staff and participants. I also undertook training with LGBTQ+ Stonewall and the NSPCC to enhance my skills in supporting diverse youth.

Examples of the diverse workshops I facilitated at 'Art Against Knives' include screen-printing, nail painting, and pottery painting workshops.

Pages from a zine-making workshop conducted for Year 8 and 9 students at a school in North London. Where we explored themes such as intersectional feminism, self-care, and the challenges of growing up today. The workshop aimed to amplify young people’s voices and introduce them to creative expression and critical thinking as they created a zine filled with their own poetry, memes, and collages. Some of the content has been blurred to protect participants' identities.
